My quarter review...

As a stay at home mom you have to get reviews for the work you put into your children sometimes. These reviews are given by your pediatrician. This past Monday Sophia had a check up appointment. Like many other pediatrician offices there are tons of toys and books everywhere to keep children entertained. Sophia took the liberty of MAKING other parents read books to her... It was pretty humiliating but thankfully, they loved her and weren't very annoyed by her persistence. Phew! When we finally got into the doctor's office Sophia picked up the Children's Encyclopedia of Animals to read while she waited for her doctor to pop in and see her. There she was sitting on the table in just a diaper and red bow in her hair pointing and telling me what each and every animal was. The doctor walked in as she got to the bird section and Sophia pointed to a parrot and said, "Wook mommy! A red Macaw!" Of course she is not going to know the correct animal name when the doctor is in the room! Then I said, "Sophia, no, that's a parrot"... "No mommy! No! That's a red Macaw!" Then her doctor who used to be my pediatrician said, "No Michelle, it is not a parrot. It's a red Macaw and I think your daughter is ready for college. You're doing a great job!" So, as a stay at home mother, I do not get a paycheck, I do not get to wear fancy clothes and I don't even get a shower until they are in bed for the night but this past Monday I got the best review of all. I'm doing a great job raising a little person. I'm a good mother.
